New delegated regulation of the CLP Regulation available
With the recent amendments to the CLP Regulation, further obligations to classify chemicals will apply.
The delegated regulation 2023/707 came into force 12/19/2022. Accordingly, substances are to be classified in the new hazard classes from May 1, 2025, at the latest, and mixtures from May 1, 2026, at the latest. Transitional periods apply to substances or mixtures already placed on the market before this date.
The new hazard classes concern endocrine disruptors (substances that damage hormonal balance in humans or in the environment) as well as PBT and vPvB substances. In addition, the development of PMT and vPvM hazard classes will be used in the future to classify substances that do not accumulate in the environment but are highly mobile in soils so that they can enter drinking water.
