UK Revokes Hand Sanitiser Marketing Relief
Due to the worldwide pandemic situation in the last few years HSE (Health and Safety Executive) decided to simplify the marketing / placing on the market of critical products such as hand sanitisers under the GB BPR.
Details
Now that these short-term permits are approaching their expiry dates, the HSE have accumulated data on the current availability of hand sanitizers on the UK market. The result suggests that, although there is still a high need for hand sanitizer products, the current demand can be covered by products supplied under the usual arrangements in BPR.
As a result, the special arrangements for the supply of hand sanitizers, which were introduced at the beginning of the pandemic, will not be continued. The assessment of ongoing applications submitted under the current arrangements will be completed. Hand sanitiser products already granted a permit can be supplied until that permit has expired.
