In brief
Substance evaluation under UK REACH aims to clarify concerns about the manufacture and/or use of certain substances that could pose a risk to human health or the environment.
HSE provides a Rolling Acton Plan for UK REACH substance evaluation
In line with its obligations under Article 44 of UK REACH and as stated within the 2021-2022 work program, HSE has published a RAP of substances which will be evaluated.
HSE will have one year from the date of publication of the RAP to evaluate these substances and, where necessary, to prepare a draft decision requesting further information from the registrants to clarify the identified concern.
In 2022-2023 HSE, working with the Environment Agency, will evaluate two substances:
- Paraffin waxes and hydrocarbon waxes, chloro (LCCPs)
- 2,2’-Diallyl-4,4’-sulfonyldiphenol (TG-SA)
More substances will be added to the RAP continuously.
