UK REACH Regulation Proposal to Extend Deadlines Passed to Parliament
In April 2023, the UK Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) introduced a draft Statutory Instrument (SI) to Parliament to formally extend the deadlines for registration under the UK REACH Regulation.
Details
The UK REACH deadlines after the UK left the European Union were originally set at 2023, 2025 and 2027, subject to tonnage and risk. After a consultation process, however, Defra agreed to extend the original deadlines by 3 years for each. The proposed new deadlines will apply until October 2026, October 2028, and October 2030, respectively.
The draft legislation requires a formal approval decision before it can come into force.
