In April 2023, the UK Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) introduced a draft Statutory Instrument (SI) to Parliament to formally extend the deadlines for registration under the UK REACH Regulation.
The European Commission has revised some of the information requirements for the registration of chemicals under REACH in 2021 and 2022. From May 1 2023, ECHA will begin reviewing both new registrations and updates to existing registrations against the revised requirements.
DEFRA had asked affected companies how the government should handle the transition periods from EU REACH to UK REACH. Respondents were asked to comment on the proposals to extend the current UK REACH submission deadlines by up to 3 years.
Existing notifications of biocidal products in Germany can now be updated online. As of January 1, 2022, a new notification procedure applies to biocides, which is regulated in the Biocide Law Implementation Ordinance.
