DUIN Submission
October 27th was the deadline for DUIN submissions with HSE. Companies importing EU registered substances were able to defer obligation of registration for 2, 4, or even 6 years, depending on the tonnage band and/or the risk profile of the notified substances, by submitting a DUIN notification to HSE.
Important Update
On its website, HSE published an update that may affect companies that did not manage to submit a DUIN before deadline. HSE states that it is still possible to submit a Downstream User Import Notification (DUIN), even though the deadline has passed. A DEFRA account is mandatory to submit DUINs and you must meet the eligibility criteria in Article 127E of UK REACH.
HSE did not declare an exact deadline for those late submissions, therefore, we recommend acting as soon as possible.
